Last year, the rock band BAND-MAID<\/strong> released a music video<\/a> as the renamed band, BAND-MAIKO<\/strong>, as an April Fool’s joke. In the music video, the band members wore traditional Japanese garb and sang in a specific Kyoto dialect reminiscent of maiko<\/a>, which are apprentice geisha. <\/p>\n

This April 1st, the band released another BAND-MAIKO song and video, and now they are releasing a mini-album on April 3rd! <\/p>\n

This mini-album, titled BAND-MAIKO<\/em>, will contain 7 songs. The first 6 are covers of their previous rock songs, this time including traditional Japanese instruments and sung in a Kyoto dialect. <\/p>\n

The music videos to “secret MAIKO lips” and “Gion-cho” are available on BAND-MAID’s official YouTube channel, and can be previewed below the track list. <\/p>\n

This mini album will be released in 2 editions: a limited edition with a bonus DVD and special case, and a regular CD-only edition. The DVD will contain the music video to “Gion-cho” and a making-of clip. For a limited time, the first-press of the regular edition will include a DVD with a different making-of video clip. <\/p>\n
