Singer-songwriter Suga Shikao<\/strong>‘s new album THE LAST<\/em> was released this Wednesday, Jan 20th. Shikao’s website touts the album as the big masterpiece he was hoping to complete before he turns fifty years old in July this year. <\/p>\n

Showcasing the “Suga Shikao that came before J-pop–neither funk nor rock–just the frank Suga Shikao,” the album contains 11 tracks. Other than “Astride,” his 30th single, the other 10 songs are all brand new. This release comes in three versions: a regular edition containing the songs as above, and two limited editions. The limited editions come with a second disc containing compositions from Shikao’s indie artist years from 2011 to 2013; and the ultra-limited edition is a box set with a DVD that contains interviews and footage related to Shikao’s indie years. The regular edition price is 3000 yen, the limited edition with DVD is 3800 yen, and the ultra-limited box edition with DVD is 8000 yen. <\/p>\n

Currently the album is ranking at 7th place on the daily Oricon chart. <\/p>\n
