Kikuo<\/strong>, a popular composer of vocaloid<\/a> songs, is teaming up with singer Hanatan<\/strong> to release their debut collaboration album Dai-ichi Maku<\/em> under the moniker Kikuohana<\/strong>. The album’s concept of “broken fairytales” features 12 original songs written and produced by Kikuo. Hanatan also goes by the name of “YURiCa” and is a sensation among enthusiasts of the internet phenomenon of “vocaloid cover singers”–amateur singers who cover songs originally “sung” by vocaloids. The popularity of some singers has propelled them to major label careers. VALSHE is a notable example. <\/p>\n

This album, slated for release on March 30th, retails for 2800 yen. It comes in a digipack and includes a 28-page hardcover illustrated book. The CD Japan-only first press edition includes an A4 (legal) size clear folder, and the Amazon Japan-only edition comes with an extra CD containing vocaloid songs. <\/p>\n
