English translation

Why does my chest
feel so tight?
I want to see you…
Even though I was supposed to be by your side soon
I realized from your heart
how the seasons have changed.
If I turn around, you will already be far away.

Even if the stars burn out and fade away,
I wish that this feeling won’t fade away

Because my love cannot reach you,
I sing for your heart.
I won’t forget,
Though the seasons change.

The moon is me, dyeing the tears with moonlight [1]
Toward where you are shining brilliantly [2].
Like love being born upon this earth [3],
Tomorrow will surely come.

The moon is always watching you
Eternally unchanged.
All of your pain, I will bear it.
As I become burdened, you are freed. [4]

Powerfully, like how I’m living this moment,
I sing for your heart.
I won’t forget,
Though the seasons change.

The moon is me.     Dyeing the tears with moonlight [1]
Toward where you are shining brilliantly [2]
Like love being born upon this earth [3]
Tomorrow will surely come.

===================
[1] namida wo somete. lit: “Dyeing [the] tears.” Who does the dyeing, and what they are being dyed for/to, are not specified. My interpretation is that the moon is “dyeing” the tears with the “color” of moonlight.

[2] kagayaku kimi. lit: “the brilliant/shining/sparkling you.” As “the (adj) you” is an awkward construction, I rearranged words. If someone has a more succinct and non-awkward translation, please let me know.

[3] “koko” = “here.” The kanji spells “chikyuu,” meaning “earth,” with a hiragana reading of “koko” given.

[4] michite wa kaketeku. lit: “As it fills up, it becomes more empty.” Subject and object are unspecified. My interpretation is that the speaker “fills” with pain, “lessening” the “pain” of the audience (“you”) that the speaker is speaking to.
