YURiCa / Hanatan new album [ERiCa] out on November 23rd!

Singer YURiCa / Hanatan, who rose to fame from the world of Vocaloid songs and Nico Nico, is releasing her fifth album on November 23rd. ERiCa contains 12 tracks, including “Raspberry Monster,” a song used for a Smartphone game of the same name. Limited pressings of the album will include a bonus CD, with content that has not yet been announced.

YURiCa / Hanatan’s official YouTube channel has released an album trailer previewing the track list, which sounds mostly upbeat and hits many high notes in Hanatan’s trademark energetic style. Album trailer video and “Raspberry Monster” HD music previewed below.

Vocaloid composer Kikuo and singer YURiCa / Hanatan collaborate in Kikuohana’s debut album [Dai-ichi Maku]

Kikuo, a popular composer of vocaloid songs, is teaming up with singer Hanatan to release their debut collaboration album Dai-ichi Maku under the moniker Kikuohana. The album’s concept of “broken fairytales” features 12 original songs written and produced by Kikuo. Hanatan also goes by the name of “YURiCa” and is a sensation among enthusiasts of the internet phenomenon of “vocaloid cover singers”–amateur singers who cover songs originally “sung” by vocaloids. The popularity of some singers has propelled them to major label careers. VALSHE is a notable example.
