Inoue Sonoko releasing new album “Shiro to Iroiro” on May 29th.

Singer, songwriter, musician, and actress Inoue Sonoko is releasing her new album on May 29th! Titled Shiro to Iroiro, the album will contain 12 tracks total, including the single “Fantastic”, two songs from her prior mini-album Mine (“Remember” and “Fumidasu ippo ga boku ni naru”), the digital single “KOTONOHA NO OMOI”, and others.

A short commercial for the album and the music video to “Hajimari” are available on YouTube, and can be previewed below the track list.

Sheena Ringo new album “Sandokushi” out on May 27th!

Veteran singer, songwriter, and musician Sheena Ringo is releasing a new album in May! Sandokushi is being released 5 years after her previous original album Hi Izuru Tokoro. The album will contain 13 tracks total, centered around the theme of the “3 poisons” in Buddhist teaching.

Included are many collaborations with artists including Turtoise Matsumoto (vocalist of the Ulfuls), Sakurai Atsushi (vocalist of Buck-Tick), Miyamoto Hiroji (vocalist of Elephant Kashimashi), and others.

R&B singer RIRI is releasing a new single! Titled Summertime, the release will contain 5 tracks, with collaborations by several R&B/urban pop artists. The songs “Summertime” and “luv luv feat. Junoflo”, which features a Korean artist, have been released digitally, and the track “HONEY (BUNNY Remix)” is a remix of the lead song from RIRI’s most recent album NEO. “Dilemma” is a cover of a Nelly song.

Singer-songwriter Saitou Takeshi is releasing a new mini-album under his solo project title SNARE COVER on May 15th! The release is titled Birth and contains 7 songs written and composed by Saitou. Many of the songs make use of looping to add harmonies, percussion, and overlaid guitar melodies.

Kizuki Minami compilation album “Uta Tsumugi” out on May 8th!

Shima-uta singer Kizuki Minami is releasing a best compilation album on May 8th! The collection, titled Uta Tsumugi, will consist of 2 discs to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the artist’s career. Disc 1 will contain 16 songs, mostly singles, including a 10th-anniversary remake of Minami’s debut single “Ai Tsumugi.” Disc 2 will contain covers of 15 songs, many of which Minami has sung on the Karaoke Battle TV show.

Singer Teshima Aoi is releasing a compilation album on May 8th! Titled Aoi Works 2 -best collection 2015-2019, the album will contain 15 songs total, which have been used in various shows and commercials. 5 of the songs are being released on CD for the first time. Several are covers, including “Ruri-iro no chikyuu” (originally sung by Matsuda Seiko), “La Vie en Rose” (originally sung by Edith Piaf), and “Ombra mai fu” (an aria from the opera Serse by Handel).

Three of the songs are bonus tracks, consisting of live recordings of “Teru no Uta”, “Tokyo”, and “La Vie en Rose.”

Singer-songwriter and unconventional idol Mayumura Chiaki is releasing her first album on a major label in May! The album is titled Major Major Monja. It will contain 18 original tracks, including 2 bonus tracks.

Many of the songs have titles and topics not usually covered in idol songs, such as “Kiseki – Kami no Ko – Tensaiken!” (“Miracle – Child of God – Genius Dog!”) You can expect more weird and wacky songs on this album, which are composed by Mayumura, who is also a guitar player.

Oyama Maki new album “MONSTER” out on April 24th!

Oyama Maki is releasing a new album this month! Titled MONSTER, the album will contain 8 tracks total which are all new songs except for the lead single “Monster.” An album release trailer has been posted to Maki’s official YouTube channel, previewing all of the songs which are mostly hard rock or metal tracks.

The self-proclaimed “singer-songrocker” is staying busy with several tours this spring, including one with the metal band FATE GEAR, and other in-store events to promote her new album.
