BAND-MAIKO strikes again, now with a mini-album!

Last year, the rock band BAND-MAID released a music video as the renamed band, BAND-MAIKO, as an April Fool’s joke. In the music video, the band members wore traditional Japanese garb and sang in a specific Kyoto dialect reminiscent of maiko, which are apprentice geisha.

This April 1st, the band released another BAND-MAIKO song and video, and now they are releasing a mini-album on April 3rd!

Ueda Marie releasing mini album “W.A.H.” on April 17th!

Singer-songwriter Ueda Marie is commemorating the 5th anniversary of her career as an artist with the mini-album W.A.H. Set for a release date of April 17th, the album’s theme is “Peace (撌 wa)” and will include 7 tracks total. The first track appears to be an intro track, while the second is a recently released digital single, “Bloomin’.” Two other songs, “Wasurena ni kuchizuke” and “Tomoshibi” have tie-ups to a commercial and to a movie that Marie is starring in, respectively.

Eir Aoi new album “Fragment” out on April 17th!

Pop/rock singer Eir Aoi is releasing a new album on April 17th! Fragment will be her fourth studio album, and the first since she went on hiatus from 2016 to 2018. The album will contain 11 tracks total, including recent singles “Yakusoku,” “Ryuusei,” and “Iris.”

Ghinka debut album “Yellow Bird” CD release on April 10th!

Singer Ghinka’s first album is being released throughout Japan on April 10th! The album had a limited released on her independent music label Pure Heart in October 2018, but is now being released to CD throughout Japan.

Ghinka’s child-like vocals evoke Arai Akino in her younger days, and indeed Akino wrote and arranged several of the songs for Ghinka, as well as producing the album, which contains 6 songs total.

Atari Kousuke new album “Kanasha” out on April 10th.

Shima-uta singer Kousuke Atari is releasing a new album in April! Titled Kanasha ~Kanasha~, the release will contain 8 tracks, including the single “Missing.” The final track, “Nanpasen,” appears to be a cover of a Nakamori Akina song. The other songs appear to be original material.

This is the artist’s first album since switching labels to Yoshimoto from Epic Records, which he debuted on in 2006.

Ieiri Leo new album “DUO” out on April 17th!

Singer-songwriter Ieiri Leo is releasing her sixth studio album next month! Titled DUO, the album will contain 12 tracks total, including recent singles “Moshi kimi wo yurusetara” and “Kono sekai de.” The artist has announced tour dates for her “DUO” tour this year in May through July.

Short clips of the music videos to the singles, and a new video for “Prime Numbers,” the lead song from the album, are available on Leo’s official YouTube channel, and can be previewed below the track list.

Voice actor and singer Irino Miyu is releasing a new mini album on March 20th! Live Your Dream will be his sixth mini-album. It will contain 6 all-new songs.

Live Your Dream will be released in 2 editions: a limited edition with a bonus DVD and a regular CD-only edition. The DVD will contain 3 clips: a music video to “Dare kara mo aisareru anata no you ni”, an album making-of clip, and a track simply titled “TRAILER.” Jacket art will differ between the two editions.

Wakana debut solo album out on March 20th!

Wakana is releasing her debut album this month! The eponymous album will contain 11 tracks total, including her first solo single “Toki wo koeru yoru ni.” The singer, who recently disbanded from the famous and melodious trio Kalafina, has been making appearances on TV music shows and holding live events after announcing her solo intentions.
