BRIDEAR mini album “HELIX” out on April 11th!

All-female metal band BRIDEAR is releasing a new mini album on April 11th! Titled HELIX, the disc will contain 7 songs total. This release features BRIDEAR’s newest member, guitarist Misaki, who joined the band after the previous guitarist Misa left. Thus, BRIDEAR continues to be a 5-member band with two guitarists, a drummer, a vocalist, and a bass guitarist.
Release notes suggest that with BRIDEAR’s new lineup, they are evolving toward hard rock from their previous niche of speed/power metal. It is unclear after Misa’s departure whether death growling will continue to be featured in the band’s vocal repertoire.
Hayashibara Megumi new album “Fifty ~ Fifty” out on March 30!

Veteran seiyuu/singer Hayashibara Megumi is releasing her 14th studio album at the end of March! Titled Fifty ~ Fifty, the album will contain 14 total tracks, including her most recent singles “Usurahi shinjuu,” “Imawa no shinigami,” “Shuuketsu no sono e” and “Sanhara ~seinaru chikara~.” Other notable songs on the album include “Mint” which was an unreleased collaboration of Megumi and her good friend Okazaki Ritsuko who passed away, and Megumi’s cover of Okazaki’s song “Regret.”

The third installment of popular vocaloid series Vocaloseasons is coming out on April 4th! The full title of this release is Exit Tunes Presents Vocaloseasons feat. Hatsune Miku -Spring-. The album will contain 15 tracks total, some of which are classic Miku songs and some of which are brand new. The release also features songs “sung” by other vocaloids, including Gakupo, GUMI, and Kagamine Rin/Ren. The full track list has not yet been announced.
The album comes with a keychain accessory of Miku, randomly picked from 3 designs, and the first press edition comes with a poster illustrated by Kamogawa if bought from certain outlets including CD Japan.
KAMIJO & Hatsune Miku collaboration single “Sang -Another Story”!

It might seem like an unusual collaboration for visual kei to meet vocaloid. Well, it’s happening–and KAMIJO‘s single featuring Hatsune Miku is coming out on March 21st! Sang -Another Story is the title of the single and the lead song, which is being released the same day as KAMIJO‘s album Sang, which features a track titled “Story of Sang.” KAMIJO is a well known visual kei artist who will be playing the part of a vampire in the title song.

Pop/rock band MONKEY MAJIK is releasing their 11th album in March! Titled enigma, the album will be released on the 21st. It will contain their 2 recent singles, “A.I. am Human” and “Is this love?” amongst a total of 11 tracks. Several of the other songs on the album also have tie-ups to various anime and TV shows.
FLOWER FLOWER releasing second album “Spotlight” on March 14!

Alternative rock band FLOWER FLOWER is releasing their second album, titled Spotlight, on March 14th! This long awaited album comes four years after their debut album Mi. The band has been touring extensively in that interval, and has released several singles and a mini album. The sophomore album will contain 12 all new tracks in 2 editions: a limited edition with a bonus DVD, and a regular CD album edition.
FLOWER FLOWER is best known as a project started by singer-songwriter YUI, the vocalist of the band who now stylizes her name as yui.
Denda Mao best album out on March 14!

R&B artist Denda Mao is releasing her best-of album on March 14th! Eternal Best 2000-2018 will contain 16 tracks, most of them singles with one new, previously unreleased song titled “Best Friend Forever.” The album includes a DVD containing 16 music videos/clips, some from Mao’s solo project when she went by the moniker “MAO/d”, as well as the all-new MV for “Best Friend Forever.”
Mao has also announced she will be embarking on her “Eternal Voice” tour from April to May, and thereafter taking a break from her singing career.
Ambient/folk artist sacci releasing first album on March 7th!

Indie artist sacci is releasing her first album on March 7th! Titled BRIGHT CELLS, the album will contain 7 songs that mix folk music, pop, and ambiance. The album is being released on the Cafeo Label, which specializes in relaxing, luminescent music with a slight electronic tint. sacci has released music videos to two of the songs. Do As Infinity releasing new album “Alive” on February 28!

Veteran pop/rock duo Do As Infinity is releasing a new album on February 28th! Titled Alive, this is their 12th original studio album. Alive will contain 10 tracks total. 6 of them are songs previously released on singles: “Alive”, “To Know You”, “Iron Hornet”, “Silver Moon”, “Keshin no juu”, and “Yuiitsu no genjitsu.” Most of those songs have tie ups as anime themes. Of the 4 new tracks, 2 are likely instrumentals as prologue and epilogue to the album.
Jero best album with music videos out in February!

Jero, the first black Enka singer in Japanese history, is releasing a best-of compilation album on February 21! Simply titled BEST & MV, the collection contains all 13 of his singles and comes with a DVD containing the music videos to all songs. The release commemorates Jero’s 10th anniversary since his debut in February 2008 with “Umiyuki.” This is the first release of his music videos, which combine traditional Japanese scenes with modern R&B style.
